Bio:
Maret Guitars entered my life when I was 13 years old. I did not know it at the time, but building a friendship with Aaron meant someday I would have the opportunity to build custom guitars. Music has always been a passion for me. From the time I started playing clarinet and trumpet in elementary and middle school, to the point I picked up the guitar and bass guitar in jazz band, I knew then my life was certainly changed.
I have always had a mechanical aptitude and a natural curiosity in figuring out how things work. My mother bought me a red tool box when I was 6 years old. She intended to halt the destruction which consumed my life as child. Instead she wanted me to focus that energy on repairing the broken components in my life. This turned out to be my most important life lesson.
Today I work with Aaron as an apprentice in our custom guitar shop which he and I designed and built on the back bone of hard work. I have played guitar for 15 years now and I love helping others achieve their musical goals. I have found a new passion as a luthier and look forward to many years of building custom guitars.
I have a background in electrical power generation. This experience has played a key role in the design of our shop. We drew on this experience to custom wire our shop to be first and for most electrically safe and convenient.
I also worked in an auto body repair shop where I spent all my time prepping and detailing vehicles. I learned how to properly prep projects for paint as well as how to apply various types of finish material. I enjoy a challenge and learning to paint over wood as opposed to metal has definitely been a welcomed one.
