First and foremost, at Maret Guitars we are musicians. We actually play the instruments that we build. We are also very passionate about the music being top priority, no matter what. We aren't a bunch of business men trying to market a "product" to an unknown ocean of "consumers". We're not saying names (but you know who you are). We just know that to make good music you have to have creativity, originality and good tools to make your job a little easier. Through years of experience as craftsmen we have figured out how to harness the best tone and playability to make a guitar function the way they all should. As artists we reach to come up with original designs that can be considered pieces of art... Well playing art. The bottom line is we are, more than anything, people like you. And we happen to know how to build guitars. This is not about golf memberships and Learjets. We are just trying to give our fellow musicians something original and dependable.

Maret was founded in 1996 in Northern California as a guitar and amp repair shop and eventually evolved into a full custom guitar company. In 2005 we moved to San Diego, California and began experimenting with further customizations and more exotic woods and electronic configurations. Today Maret guitars are hand made from AAAA grade hardwood and we utilize only the highest quality electronic components and hardware available. These custom guitars are built to order and are set up to personal customer specifications with your choice of fret wire, pickups, inlays, and any combination of wood and finishing options.
